I’m one of those people who’s happy to eat soup year round, but I especially appreciate a hot bowl in the doldrums of winter. There’s something so cozy about chicken noodle soup or a hearty chili when it’s cold outside, but I don’t always have the necessary ingredients on hand (or, honestly, the time to watch the stove) when I’m craving them.
Thankfully, Panera makes it super easy to enjoy a tasty, nourishing soup whenever I want — and right now, you can get a cup of your favorite one at a really steep discount when you order an entree on the restaurant’s app.
How To Get In On the Deal
Just in time for these long, cold winter days, Panera announced a pretty tantalizing limited-time offer: You can add a cup of soup to your order for just $1 using the code SOUP, but only when you order through the Panera app.
The offer isn’t valid on third-party delivery sites, such as DoorDash or UberEats. According to Panera’s website, you can only redeem one code per transaction, which means even if you order two entrees, you get one soup at a discounted price, with a maximum discount of $6.99.
What Kind of Soups Are We Talking?
If you’ve ever dined at Panera, you know they’ve got a solid list of soups to choose from. Menu items can vary by location, but currently, the website lists autumn squash soup, turkey chili, broccoli cheddar, homestyle chicken noodle, cream of chicken and wild rice, creamy tomato, and bistro French onion as options.
You should be able to add any of them for your $1 soup as long as you also order an entree, such as a sandwich, salad, bowl, or flatbread pizza. While all the soup flavors are typically available as a larger bowl size, the $1 offer only applies to smaller-sized cups. But don’t worry, you won’t be hungry afterward.
As a bonus, anytime you get a bowl or cup of soup at Panera, you also get a free piece of French baguette, an apple, or a bag of potato chips to go with it. Sounds like a filling lunch or dinner to me!
It’s not clear how long the $1 soup deal is happening — the website says it’s effective “while supplies last” — so I recommend taking advantage of it sooner rather than later. Now’s the perfect time to try a new soup flavor you’ve been eying, and who knows, maybe you’ll even get some inspiration for home cooking in the process!
