Before joining The Spruce Eats as an Associate Commerce Editor in 2022, Katherine worked as a contributing writer across several Dotdash Meredith lifestyle brands. In addition to food, she’s also written and edited travel, nature, and sustainable lifestyle/design content for a range of print and digital publications.

Experience
Katherine grew up in California’s Napa Valley, where she inherited a foundational appreciation for agriculture and a passion for good food. She worked in the restaurant industry for more than a decade and has over six years of experience writing about sustainable lifestyle and design. Before coming to Dotdash Meredith, Katherine also worked as a lifestyle reporter in Honolulu, spent time as a freelance writer, and covered food insecurity at a non-profit magazine.
When she’s not writing or editing, you can usually find her cooking at home, planning her next travel excursion, or with her nose in a novel.
Education
Katherine earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Chapman University. She also holds a certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust for completing WSET Level 2 with Distinction.
