Experience
Born and raised in Nigeria, Ozoz hated food until she was nine, causing her parents grief until a holiday to Edinburgh where long walks met hunger and led to a meal at Wimpy's. She hasn't looked back since then and spends her days eating, reading, cooking, writing, shopping, thinking about food and researching culinary heritage.
A creative cook, Ozoz began blogging in 2009 when she lived in the Netherlands. Homesick, she started to document Nigerian recipes and ended up researching classic and traditional recipes—some lost and forgotten—and exploring contemporary approaches.
Ozoz is one of the foremost researchers on Nigerian cuisine and its impact on Black cuisines across the world.
Education
She received a bachelor's degree in geology from the University of Liverpool and holds a freelance journalism diploma. Ozoz has also taken cooking and photography classes.
