Originally from South Carolina, Renae Wilson has been Brooklyn-based for 10 years. A US Navy Veteran, Renae used her Montgomery GI Bill to fund her culinary & pastry education at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. She works as a freelance private chef & caterer, recipe tester & developer, and food writer. 

Throughout her career as a professional cook, Renae has amassed an extremely diverse work portfolio. She is passionate about all food. Through her travels and work in event catering, she has worked alongside many different women of color with all types of cultural backgrounds. This has helped grow her knowledge of different cuisines. Though her roots and influences are Southern, her love for learning about all food lends to her well-rounded cooking style.
