Last Thursday, the “Gin and Juice” rapper shared that he was “giving up smoke” on both X (formerly known as Twitter) and Instagram. The post on Twitter went viral with over 144 million views and over 34 thousand comments ranging from supportive to skeptic to devastated.

Could it be true? Was Snoop Dogg actually giving up one of the things that he is most known for?

Today, his message finally made a little more sense: Snoop Dogg announced he was collaborating with Solo Stove on a limited edition Solo Stove. Still confused? Allow me to explain.

Snoop Dogg + Solo Stove Launching a Limited Edition Collaboration

For those who aren't familiar, Solo Stove is known for their stainless steel stoves and fire pits that are designed with double walls and vents which create a natural vacuum leading to more efficient airflow and a fire that burns about twice as hot as a campfire. The Snoop Stove - Bonfire 2.0 Limited Edition Bundle comes with the Snoop-designed fire pit built for smokeless blazes, a bucket hat, sticker pack, base plate and ash plate, and a carry case that lets you take your Solo Stove wherever you might need a fire all for $349.99.

The key feature is that it’s smokeless. According to the site, “The wood-burning flames get 400 F hotter than conventional fires, eliminating smoke and creating fine ashes.” Making the unit more enjoyable to be around for backyard fire pits, camping, or however else you plan to use your Solo Stove. Hence Snoop giving up smoke. (We see what you did there, sir!)

Known for his BIC campaign with his long-time friend, Martha Stewart, where there are not-so-subtle undertones for the various uses of lighters, this isn’t the first time the entrepreneur has used his love of cannabis in a marketing venture.

With Black Friday fast approaching, this is an ingenious way to get people’s attention about a new product that’s a gift option for the holiday season. Well played, sir. Well played.
